What is CSR?
Business and society are interdependent. The wellbeing of one depends on the wellbeing on the other. Companies engaged in Corporate Social Responsibility are reporting benefits to their reputation and their bottom line.

Corporate Social Responsibility is the big new addition to IndustryPlayer and can make a huge impact on your score. You can find it on each licence's webpage and it can reduce your income tax payments by up to a half. When purchasing a new licence I would suggest looking at the CSR ratings and choose licences where the rating is high. However there are other things that contribute to your overall CSR rating. Paying a fair wage increases the standard of living of your workers. It may also reduce their working hours and encourage quality family time. Also setting quality to a higher level minimises your pollution and waste thus helping the environment and raising your holding's CSR rating. It could mean planting trees to replace the wood and paper you use or producing cars that have lower emissions. Returning landscapes to woodland after mining or just encouraging your workers to be fitter by building a company gym. We should not just think of CSR as a number but think of the issues behind CSR and how our industries would be more responsible in real life.

You can view your holding's CSR rating by hovering over the multicoloured strip under the AP box in your console. Remember the greener you are the more tax incentives you get which means higher scores. So by taking a look at CSR ratings you can think about saving the planet as well as making good profits.

Is it profitable to buy your own products?
GO (Get Offers) automatically offers your own products first and no "Get Offers" fee is paid. If your own product is out of stock, then you are offered stock in the usual GO rotation or buy the National Industry. The advantage is the saving in the Get Offers fee and the ability to sell your own stock more quickly - selling to yourself at every turn....
