How Can We Rob God?
Mal 3:8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.
Mal 3:9 Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.
Mal 3:10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
Mal 3:11 And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts.
Mal 3:12 And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the LORD of hosts.
This verse say we have the ability to rob God in the process of giving our tithe and offerings. I heard this for yesrs. The other day I heard something that I never thought of before.
Think about it this way. God already owns everything. He owns the cattle on a thousand hills. He owns the silver and the gold. He made the world. Gold is so plentiful in heaven it will be used to pave the streets!
God neither wants nor needs our money. How then can we rob him by not giving our tithe and offering?
Psa 51:17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.
Psa 51:18 In your good pleasure make Zion prosper; build up the walls of Jerusalem.
This verse says it is Gods good pleasure to prosper his people. God takes pleasure in blessing us!
God desires to bless us. He wants to propser us.
How can God bless us if we are not faithful in giving tithe and offering? The seed cannot grow as long as it is oon our hand. It must be placed into the soil.
Therfore when we do not give our tithe and offering we prevent God from being able to bless us the way he wants to.
In essence we rob God of the opportunity to bless his people.
Could this be the way we rob God when we do not gve our tithes and offerings? Perhpas God is looking for a way to bless you right now. Have you robbed God of that opportunity?
Something to think about!
